I can’t sing Luke Atkins’ praises highly enough. His workmanship on a fairly difficult extension and renovation of our home was excellent and he often did things above and beyond the call of duty – the proper way rather than the expedient way.
I am known as a demanding client and have done a lot of renovating and building in my time. I have a very good eye for detail and a reasonable knowledge of building practices. Luke and his co-worker Fritz regularly exceeded my expectations with the quality of their work.
The price was also reasonable. No less than 12 builders had quoted on the job before finding Luke, with the right balance of competencies, references, availability and price. And to boot, he’s a pleasure to deal with. Timely, reliable, thoughtful and respectful of the client. Luke and Fritz brought good energy and good humour daily to the worksite.
Luke was paid in full before the end of the job because we had to go overseas. I trusted him to finish the job properly in our absence and he did so. I can’t think of any other builder in my 35 years of building and renovating to whom the same trust would have been granted.

Over the years we have had many builders work on our house but Luke Atkins was the most pleasant, most professional, the most exacting and the tidiest of them all. The renovation was tricky and entailed a complete renovation of the oldest part of the house which had a combination of floor levels and we wanted a new terrazzo polished floor all on one level! We have no hesitation in recommending Luke to anyone who wants an honest and hard working builder.

We were lucky enough to have Luke Atkins work on our property in Pittwater. He designed and built a beautiful studio in our garden which included a loft, bathroom, storage and large workspace in keeping with our house on the same block. It is a beautifully crafted job. During that time he also completely renovated our kitchen, again, all in keeping with our home that was designed and built in l960 by Australian architect, Bert Reid. Luke was always punctual, reliable and amiable, and we would be happy to recommend him.
